Voters Approve Myrtle Point Charter By Wide Margin
Citizens of Myrtle Point voted Tuesday to adopt the city charter calling for elimination of the city treasurer and consolidation with the city recorder. The recorder would become appointive, with the charter following the League of Oregon Cities plan for small city government. 43d Annual Coos County Fair Sets Attendance Record

At the 1954 fair the Style Revue by Coes County 4-H girls drew a large crowd at the fair grounds. Six division champions were chosen with three earning expenses to the state fair. Miss Ans Ye of Myrtle Point won the grand banner, while contestants included Casciyn Eichwerth and Karen Albertson among others.
