Rate hike approved by Co-op
The Cool-Curry Electric Cooperative board approved the first rate increase in 33 years at its regular meeting in Coquiton. The new schedule replaces the 1952 rates with two small reductions in the last five years, while costs rise due to higher labor and material expenses. Jack Dean, the board president, said higher wages and fringe benefits plus doubling material costs made the hike necessary.
