Fire Destroys Perry Home on McKinley Route
A fire of unknown origin completely destroyed the home of Mr and Mrs Glen Perry near the Youth Camp on McKinley route late Saturday midnight. Mrs Perry woke to what seemed like an explosion while her husband and two young sons were away fishing. The daughter was elsewhere. Faulty wiring is presumed the cause. Neighbors housed Mrs Perry for the night and later secured a furnished apartment. The Perrys rented the Coquille farm home of Mr McCarthy. Heeren Linn Insurance covered part of the Perry furniture. Mr Perry works for Coos Bay Lumber Co.

Schroeder county extension agent. 14-H and F.F.A. boys ages 13 to 18 may enter the calf scramble for a Hereford heifer calf, while youths age 10 to 15 may enter the lamb scramble for ewe lambs. Obituary: Claud Giles Promické Coes Attorney Dies
Claud Giles a prominent Coos county attorney died of a heart attack on July 27 while fishing on the Sixes River. Funeral services were held at Mills Mortuary in Coos Bay with O W Payne officiating. Mr Giles had lived in Cros county all his life and practiced law in Myrtle Point and Coos Bay. He was a veteran and is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs.
