Clyde McBee 78 died April 22 in Roseburg after a long illness. Born March 14 1861 in Douglas County Oregon he worked as a logger most of his life in Oregon. He lived in Camas Valley for eight years and was active in the local Camas Valley community. Survived by wife Estelle and brothers Richard and Delbert. Funeral April 25 at Camas Valley Community Church. burial in Noah Cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson's Chapel of the Roses. Donations requested to crippled children fund.
All lady golfers are urged to attend a no-heat luncheon at the golf course next Wednesday at 1 p m. Golfing starts at 10 a m and every Wednesday is ladies day. Delegates will study Home Economics Agriculture and Science with older participants organizing recreational and social programs. The event features a Centennial pageant about Oregon statehood. Selection bases on 4 H activity and required eligibility includes over 12 and one year of 4 H. Names include Myrtle Point Powers Coos Bay Bend and other communities.
The annual Spring Handicap golf tournament began at Coquille Valley Golf and Country Club with matches Saturday and Sunday. Notable results include Larry Watson defeating Floyd Fall, Ron Getebell winning, and several byes and defaults among players.
