Figures compiled by C. M. Sperber of Bandon show outbound freight and passengers for the first sight months of 1812. Cedar piling, shingles, lumber, cedar railroad ties, splints, matchwood, produce, and 925 passengers are listed alongside inbound freight and 1,088 passengers. The port fleet includes steamers to San Francisco Portland and San Pedro, schooners for various parts, and gasoline coasters.

Hewitt and McCormack Wed at Lundy Residence

Miss Margaret Catherine Hewitt of Albany Wisconsin married John Roderic McCormack a Lebanon Oregon mill man at the Lundy home with a small invitation list. Rev Thomas Barklow officiated the ceremony marking the 196th wedding performed by the couple then departed by Steamer Breakwater and Portland for Lebanon to start their home together.

Congressman Hawley Visits County Events

Congressman W C Hawley arrived in the county last Saturday and met with the commercial bodies and the Port Commission at the bay side. He was in town between trains Tuesday and later left for Bandon to attend a reception as a congressman. He will return today to view the exhibit at the county fair.

Brethren Conference Returns to Ashland Oregon Delegates Convene

The Church of the Brethren held a state district conference in Ashland Oregon at the corner of Iowa street and Mountain avenue. Delegates from Portland Newberg and other areas discussed Ways and Means to advance the gospel.
