Myrtle Point Prepares Major Telephone Overhaul

Linemen in Myrtle Point upgrade the central office and lay new cables along Spruce street improving service and capacity. A 100 wire trunk from the east and 25 pair from the west will be added, with a larger 100 line switchboard replacing the old forty line unit.

Henry F. McCracken and Sylvia Hansen were wed at Marshfield Lutheran parsonage by Rev. J. Richard Oleson with plans to reside in Marshfield. Gravel Ford Grange No. 304 organized with 24 members under Cyrus H. Walker. The McKenzie Merrymakers performed at Benson Opera House, presenting Lord Chumley and Mary Jane’s Pa to full houses. Northwest Pacific extension plans push toward Eureka and Coos Bay, with 2 million dollars allotted for Sherwood to Eureka, and Dunning resigns as local agent for the railroad and Breakwater.
