Pert Boone Dies After Logging Accident in Sumner
Charles Luther Boone known as Pert was fatally struck by a falling timber at Walt Lawhorn’s logging camp near Sumner. He died at nine P.M. after being injured about four P.M. He was 22, eldest son of Thomas N. and Carrie E. Boone. Funeral services were held at the Sumner Baptist Church with Rev. Thos. Barklow delivering the rites.
