First annual fair opens with large displays and strong crowds
The event drew about 2000 visitors Thursday, 3000 Friday, and over 1000 Saturday, with stock, poultry, and produce entries surpassing expectations. Mail Schedule Changes Between Myrtle Point and Roseburg
Myrtle Point Roseburg mail on winter schedule from last Monday will depart Myrtle Point at eight p m and reach Roseburg after twenty six hours until May 1 next year. Roseburg mail leaves six a m and arrives here eight next morning weather permitting. otherwise arrives six to eight in the evening. Joe Laird says auto service will run with roads decent and the Myrtle Point departure will shift to six a m, one hour earlier than before.

The County Fair featured Geo. W. Starr’s Bridge section pumpkin at 88 pounds. KE H Neer entered seven poultry specimens winning five premiums and two seconds. George Starr submitted multiple entries in vegetables earning six ribbons and two reds. A playground for children was proposed on grounds to entertain youngsters while adults view displays.
