Century Pioneer J R Devaul Dies at 92 in Oregon
J James R Devaul aged 92 years 7 months 27 days died after ailing from paralysis at his daughter's home on Sunday. Funeral held Monday from ME church with Rev W F Rogers. interment in Myrtle Point cemetery. He was born March 28 1814 in Elkton Kentucky and moved to Grundy county Missouri in 1835. He married Sarah Howell in 1837 and had twelve children. He lived in Oregon since 1886 and 1888 in Coos county, was a Black Hawk War veteran, and first justice of the peace in Grundy county.
