Myrtle Point approves street and cemetery projects and bonds
The Myrtle Point City Council approved about two mayor projects totaling around twenty thousand dollars for street and sidewalk improvements. Block costs ranged from 537.52 to 6,136.00 with a quarter mile of sidewalks to be laid by Dean and Brown. The Bancroft bonding act funds the street work with a ten day window for property owners to apply. New Bridge Formally Accepted by Court Officials
The Coquills steel bridge over the Coquille River was formally accepted by the County Court last Friday, with County Judge Wetain and commissioners Armstrong Philips and Murdock present. Portland Bridge Co completed work early. the structure replaces a rebuilt 1900s wooden bridge that collapsed in a freshet years ago.
