Coos Bay Oregon November 1 The Coos Bay Times reports an appeal from the $6000 damage verdict awarded to Mrs Edna Wall in a logging accident case against Smith Powers Logging Co. The appeal would go to the U S Court of Appeals in San Francisco if Judge Wolverton does not grant a judgment notwithstanding the verdict. The trial heard that Wall stood by the track as a logging train passed a chain swung out and dragged her before she fell under the wheels. two witnesses testified including one man who later died and another who did not see what threw her. The defense argued the chain could not swing out to catch a person.
