Log camp accident claims Wille Barklow in Coos County
In Coos County near Coquille a logging camp accident killed 26 year old Willie Barklow. A log rolling mishap crushed his left side severing life instantly while another worker escaped. Barklow had long operated in the Sitkum area and was a pioneer stage line operator in Coos County. Funeral services were held at Myrtle Point with large attendance. he is survived by his mother and seven siblings. Coos county pioneer James Laird Jr. died at his son J L Laird’s home in the city on Saturday morning at 6 30 aged 77 years and 7 days. He had returned from Sitkum for winter treatment which failed. Funeral services were held at Dora cemetery chapel with Elder J C Clapp of the Latter Day Saints officiating. He is survived by many children and grandchildren including Mrs Wa Bettys Fairview Mrs P A Alford Coquille J D Laird Sitkum Mrs Robert Anderson Klamath county W M Laird Sitkum J L Laird Myrtle Point and J H Laird.
