Safe Blow at Southern Pacific Depot Stuns Myrtle Point

Yeggmen blew open a depot safe with nitroglycerine Tuesday night at the Southern Pacific depot in Myrtle Point. They looted $5 in dimes from a cash tray and an envelope with $25 in a package, took a whiskey bottle and touched two express packages but left watches and most valuables. Police followed leads to two suspects with little evidence to arrest.

Myrtle Point Canning Company Organized and Ready to Begin

At a Wednesday city hall meeting stockholders completed the organization of the Myrtle Point Canning Company. J. O. Stemmler chaired, L. A. Roberts served as secretary. A five member board of trustees was elected for one year: L. A. Roberts, C. E. Huling, T. D. Guerin, H. B. Steward, W. E. Pike. Officers to be chosen from the board, authorized to hire a manager.

Logging train wreck on Daniels Creek injures three Greek section men

A wreck on the McDonald logging road at Daniels Creek injured three Greek section men and badly bruised engineer Donald McKay after brakes failed and the train derailed. The boiler exploded, one man scorched, but all were taken to Mercy hospital North Bend and were improving. No fatalities expected.
