Three councilmen and the mayor formed a quorum at the mid month meeting. Ordinance 135 remained vetoed but a petition for Spruce Street paving with a concrete base and later asphalt surface was approved. A meeting with property owners favored concrete base paving to curb weeds, with work to start after the Fourth of July.

Fourth of July Celebration Planned by Myrtle Club
The Myrtle Club outlined a full Fourth of July program at a meeting, reporting about 400 dollars pledged. Activities include a street parade, track races, ball game between Bandon and Myrtle Point, a grove program, barbecue, dancing pavilion, and continuous street sports. A parade committee, entertainment, and other subcommittees were named and a full day of events scheduled from sunrise to night.

The voters gathered at the High School building in this city at 2 00 p m on Monday afternoon June 17 for the annual meeting of School District No 41.
Local Meeting Elects Stemmler to Three Year Term
About fifty attendees heard reports from the clerk and directors and approved them. M O Stemmler won the director seat on the first ballot with 23 votes to 13 over T E Dixon. Arthur Brown resigned as director effective 1913. Annin edged Dixon for the vacancy with 19 to 18 votes. S D Pulford won clerk on the second ballot 22 to 18. An 18 mill tax was set for the coming year.
