Saturday results show Chester Adams taking first in swimming contests while Miller led the 100-yard dash. H ne won the quarter-mile for men with R. Spires second. Loren Barklow led the under 14 boys 50-yard dash and Ray topped the under 14 girls. A motorcycle race replaced a canceled entry, won by A Matson over S Mitchell in a four mile event. Picnic in South Fork honors Uncle Sam's 139th birthday
A grand picnic Sunday July 4 1915 was held in the grove at the Seldon Warner dairy ranch on the South Fork of the Coquille four miles above Myrtle Point. About 120 neighbors attended representing the entire South Fork country and Myrtle Point with a bountiful meal prepared by district housewives and daughters renowned for hosting such events.
