Dairymen Gather in Coquille for County Session

Coquille Oregon January 16 Dairymen gathered in the county seat to mark the first anniversary of Coquille and Lower Coquille Cow Testing Associations. Officers elected for Lower Coquille and Baldin Association with plans for Feb 1 year end, and a Myrtle Point reorganization cited.

University of Oregon Offers Advertising Course for February Term

A course in advertising practice at the University of Oregon will run during February and March, taught by nine members of the Portland Ad Club. Lectures cover topics such as economic justification, ethics, salesmanship, writing ads, and layout, following a psychology of advertising session by Dr. Edmund S. Conklin.

Portland report shows Oregon produced 48 789 cattle 27119 calves 144 901 hogs and 196 425 sheep in 1914 while total livestock received nationwide reached 597 180 head. Calf shipments fell sharply to 2 505 from 4 666 in 1913, signaling farmers’ push to retain young animals for future breeders or slaughter, boosting state meat supply.
