Fair association forms to secure county fair grounds

A large gathering at Myrtle Point City Hall voted to acquire seventeen and a quarter acres for a race track and exhibition grounds from Mr Dement for 5175 dollars and to lease free use of oak grove for camping during the county fair. The group plans incorporation with 10000 dollars capital with 60 percent stock subscriptions. Percy Ward J L Knight and E C Roberts to solicit funds as the association forms.

The Myrtle Point city council reviews street paving materials for upcoming work. P A Sandberg of Marshfield for Warren Construction Co. presented the bitulithic paving option. The maximum cost stated is $2.35 per square yard.

Marshfield quits debating league amid schedule chaos

Marshfield withdrew from the Coles county debating league leaving Myrtle Point and Coquille teams to scramble a new schedule. Myrtle Point debated last night at Unique Theatre and, with girls on the negative side, lost to the county rivals by 87 to 69 as the boys and girls prepare to advance to Bandon and Benson's Opera House for upcoming matches.

Death of G T Robison at Coquille

George Texas Robison 65 an old Fishtrap resident died at his daughter Mrs Hickums Coquille home after a lingering illness. A Missouri native he came west in 1888 was married in 1872 and had four children. He was a member of the M E Church South. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon by J L Lyons with burial in the family cemetery near Fishtrap.

Port of Coquitte River Commissioners Form Committees

The Port Commissioners met at the office of P. L. Philan last Wednesday. They adopted by laws and appointed standing committees along with a special committee to explore borrowing funds for this year since the port was formed too late to levy taxes in 1911. Have you paid the Printer?
