Demand for the premium list is strong as the fair runs September 10 11 12 and 18 with up to $1500 for horse premiums and $1809 for race entries. The board fixes green and yellow as the official colors and notes parking rules pricing including free grandstand admission for ladies.
Regular services will be held in the Christian church next Sunday. Bible school at 10:00 a.m. Morning service follows.
The church announces a Monday service at 1100 a.m. and an evening sermon at 8:00 p.m. The congregation invites all to attend and receive a welcoming handshake. The Bible school has been reorganized with a front rank school. visitors are welcome. Ellsworth C. Coulter, Pastor.
The Marshfield Bears defeated Coquille 11 to 3 last Sunday, with Myrtle Point scoring in the sixth on a hit by A J McDonald followed by Guernsey’s two base hit. Marshfield pitchers Osborne and Abbott led a 12 and 1 strikeout effort as Marshfield ascertained a decisive victory.
Hinman milkers numbered thirteen hundred sold in the first half of 1913. The equipment is spreading to many Pacific coast dairies due to reliability safety and reasonable price. Natural hand action. Will exhibit at the Fair. B Bartlett agent.
City proclaims Wednesday September 3 1913 as a general clean up day. Property owners and residents should gather by 8 am to mend streets and walks. Bring tools such as scythes hoes rakes pitchforks hammers and nails. Street committee members listed with City Marshal will direct efforts.
Myrtle Point owners Captain Russell Panter and Captain Walter Panter will add the Telegraph a larger faster steamer to the Dora and Myrtle fleet for daily runs from Bandon. It will be 85 feet long 98 tons capacity 275 horsepower with finest interiors and finishing on the Coquille river trade and is due ready in about 90 days.
The encampment gathers in the city with tents around a large pavilion for about 100 attendees. Ministers arriving include Pastor Flair, IL Finster, and I B Armitage. Daily services feature 10:30 2:30 and 8:00 with song services each evening and daily youth and children meetings.

Pierson lived in Myrtle Point 1902 1906 served as first assistant in schools, studied law at Indiana State University, admitted to the bar in 1908, practiced in Indiana until returning to Myrtle Point this spring, is in good standing with the Indiana bar, and carries a recommendation from Circuit Judge Roberts attesting to character and qualification.
C. W. Nelson, already in the restaurant trade since last spring, rents part of the former Pike store to run a new and second hand furniture business. J. W. Westerberg of Marshfield aims to open a notions or racket store around September 1 in the Shine room beside the post office.
Notice invites all wishing to purchase concessions on the ground during fair week at the Coos and Curry County Fair Myrtle Point to submit applications to the undersigned by September 8 1913. Fair runs September 10 to September * 1913.
The state forester announces the official Coos county fire wardens for the season. Wardens include A Adelsperger W J Conrad Frank Heath Cornell Lagerstrom Frank Smith Carl Albrecht Marshfield G S Gothro Eugene Terry and others across North Bend Coquille Myrtle Point Allegany Empire Rural Fairview Camas Valley and McKinley with several listed individuals and towns.
D O Anderson of the Western Stock Journal urges ensilage as a cheap, dependable dairy feed. He notes silos preserve summer feeds, cut winter costs, and that care to seal crevices improves preservation. The Enterprise offers a joint subscription: $2.00 for a year to both papers.

Marshfield racing association drew big crowds last Friday and Saturday with exciting races. The wild west roundup failed to satisfy due to lack of animals. Report lists horses owners and jockeys with times for each race and notes a track record drop in the final one mile race.
A major blaze in Bay Point destroyed about 35 acres of the C. A. Smith Lumber Company yard, with an estimated loss around 500000 dollars. Firefighters from Oakland Antioch Pittsburg and Martinez aided by two San Francisco fire boats fought the flames through the night. About 40000000 feet of lumber burned, threatening docks and sheds while cranes and machinery were saved. The plant covers 300 acres and is valued at five million dollars. recovery plans include accelerating Eastside mill work and potential night shifts to replenish stock.
F A Pierson a brother of EJ Pierson who returned to the Myrtle Point area last March has joined in a law co partnership with D Ford. Pierson recently completed his law studies in Brockport Indiana and was admitted to the bar after years of practice in the Second Judicial Circuit. A judge in that circuit commends his uprightness and talent in the profession.
The Fair Association announces prizes for 1st and 2nd loaf white raised bread and best light bells, plus best baking powder biscuit. An extra $1.90 to 1st prize and 50 cents to the end prize apply if crowned with Crown Flour. BALFOUR GUTHRIE COO F. S. Dow, Agent.
Southern Pacific expects its CB R and E branch to run trains from Myrtle Point to North Bend by January 1. The company bought waterfront right of way and will commence extending the line at once.
