Townsfolk Fearful of Old Dan in Quiet Parish
In a Cornish village, Daniel Leighan known as Old Dan rules with wealth and greed. His niece Mary Nethercote tends him while he obsesses over a missing tin box of securities and a robbed bag. A fall leaves him crippled, and Mary and her fiancé George Sidcote fear for their future as Leighan clings to control and plots.
