Drain and Bay Line Construction Aims to Open Rail Link Within Year
The Portland and San Francisco rail project from Drain to the Umpqua River progresses with a 900 mule and crew, extensive grading, 40 by 100 foot shed, bridges and culverts, plus four tunnels including a 4000 foot main tunnel. Completion targeted in about a year to beat fall rains and establish a new coast line.
