The Marshfield teachers Institute ran July 28 to August 3 with 71 teachers enrolled. Prof Grout of Portland and Supt Ackerman led sessions on teaching methods and the Oregon state course of study. A chartered boat trip to Jarvis landing followed lectures at the Methodist church and the institute closed with travel home by train and boat. The next institute will be held in Bandon.
