Rail service restored to two daily trains May first

Beginning May first the railway resumes two daily round trips. Train No 1 leaves Marshfield at 8 00 am for Myrtle Point arriving 9 35 am. No 2 runs from Myrtle Point at 10 00 am to Marshfield 11 40 am. No 8 departs Marshfield 8 10 pm reaching Myrtle Point 4 20 pm. No 4 leaves Myrtle Point 4 40 pm arriving Marshfield 6 00 pm. Citizens can spend hours in each town before returning.

Bond Issue Sold By Portland Bid For Waterworks Bonds

City council accepted Morris Brothers Portland bid of 21 1/4 thousand dollars for 22 000 five percent waterworks bonds. They offer to pay printing and attorney fees. overall cost saving about 1 000 dollars versus previous issue, yielding a premium of roughly 250 dollars to the city.
