Ray Radabaugh Nuptials at Nor­way Home

Albina Radabaugh wed John L. Ray at the Radabaugh home near Norway in a noon ceremony officiated by Rev. Thos. Barkiow. The parlor was decorated with cherry blossoms and lilacs, the bride wore white satin, and a small bridal party attended. The couple left for a short honeymoon at Bandon and the beach and will reside on a ranch north of the city.

H G Roberts traveled to Marshfield to solicit advertising for the 1914 premium Hat of the Coon Curry County Fair. Ed had been chosen to represent Myrtle Point fans at the Tuesday baseball meeting but is delayed and may discuss baseball with the Marshfield committee if he meets them.

Early reports show 262 candidates filing nominating petitions for state and district offices in Salem. The list includes R A Booth and George E Chamberlain for U S Senate and numerous other Republicans Democrats and progressives for Congress governor state offices and county posts across Coos County and surrounding areas.

Coos and Curry County Fair Directors Meet

The Coos and Curry County Fair Association directors met at Secretary L A Roberts’s office. They re adjusted the Premium List and increased several department appropriations. They discussed building improvements with a ground plan study to follow and decided no races will be held except as fair amusements, with track and ballgrounds to be used by the Myrtle Club Fourth of July committee.

Local Baseball League Slows to Start as Teams Mull Plans

League wary after last year’s outside recruitment sparks discontent and financial strain. Marshfield hosted a Tuesday meeting with delegates from Bandon Norway North Bend and Empire. Myrtle Point threatens to field a team only if all players are home grown, while Coquille faces similar issues.

New Guerin building hosts photo gallery and cleaning shop

H A Tucker and A B Taylor moved into the Guerin building at Sixth and Spruce this week. Tucker plans a portrait studio with enhanced light for clearer photos. Archie will open cleaning and pressing facilities in a week or ten days. W S Turpin, inspector, and contractor Wm Schroeder recently handed the heating system to the Grammar school board. Schroeder notes the vacuum vapor plant is unique in the region and among the finest in the state.
