Coquille Chamber Seeks Port Formation and Local Delegations
At a Wednesday meeting in Coquille officials from Myrtle Point and Bandon were invited as resolutions backed forming a Port for Coquille under the new port law. Committees will meet with Major Meladoe—arriving today—to discuss harbor improvement and potential participation by Myrtle Point and Bandon. A Myrtle Point Commercial Club move toward permanent organization followed with a revised constitution and by laws and a two thirds admission rule with a $2.50 fee. A delegation will confer with Bandon and Coquille on forming part of the Coquille under the new law, with next meeting set for Tuesday night to rally local business leaders in regional development.
