Butcher Is Fined For Impure Meat Sale In Marshfield
George W. King once of Myrtle Point now operating a Marshfield meat market was found guilty of selling impure meat by a Marshfield jury. He was fined $60 with the city to pay costs except jury costs. His appeal to the circuit court is planned. The trial drew a large crowd and lasted late. A reward offer of $1000 for proof of diseased meat was invoked. the complainant may seek to collect.

Park Engages Myrtle Point School Staff for Next Year
At the last school board meeting Superintendent A T Park was reelected for the coming year and Claude G Giles was engaged as high school principal. Other hires include Miss McCracken, Miss Robbins, Mrs Whitaker, Mrs Short and Miss Neer with uncertain needs for an eighth grade teacher. Giles will keep his legal practice until summer. Miss Aussiker retires for health reasons. The district may extend the term to nine months to complete work.

Hazel Dollar Arrives as Largest Ship to Enter Coos Bay
The Hazel Dollar, the largest vessel ever to reach Coos Bay, arrived Sunday to load about 4 000 000 feet of lumber at the Smith mill for China. Half will be loaded here before heading to Puget Sound to complete the cargo, with a crew of forty Chinese sailors and a 1 000 ton coal bunkers for fuel. The ship, 89 feet longer than the Nana Smith, drew about 15 feet with ballast and required ten days of loading aided by forty longshoremen. Captain Olean of the Nana Smith piloted it into the bay.
