High water broke a 25 foot levee at Shawneetown in the Ohio River flood. The disaster, described as hurricane like, swept the town. Official counts report 600 persons perished amid the devastation.

Cattle Market Outlook Signals Higher Prices Ahead

Cattle buyers like W. Matlock pressed in Foesil and Gilliam county offering 20 for yearling stock and 81.50 for one head, while Crook county yearling sales surged with up to 25,000 head changing hands.
