In Coquille the Republican gathering elected W H Boneh as chairman and Eric Would as secretary. Four delegates were affirmed for North Bend precinct despite calls for twelve. The ticket nominated includes Coke, Hermann, Anderson, Spires, Gallier, Watson, Dean, Bunch, Dully, McCulloch, Mingus, Bender and Traver with several delegates named for the state convention.
Capt Geo Leneve arrives from Coquille to take charge of the Alert on the North Coos river run. Capt Jas Rooke had run the boat since Edwards fell ill. The Breakwater should be ready for Coos bay duties in about a month after needed load fitting. Lumber shipments on the coast were down due to the steam schooner tie up, but Coos bay shipments largely rely on sailing vessels. Dispatch failed twice to tow Fulton off the beach at Port Orford amid rough tides. another attempt is planned in three weeks. Snyder visited Coquille on Monday. The Socialist convention is set for April 19 in Coquille City. Buckingham Hecht shoes and Gach ell's logger footwear advertised. Creamery supplies, including cans and churns, sold at Huling Lundy & Sons. All employees at Corbin mill remain in charge of property.
Myrtle Point Oregon council meets April 4 1904 with Mayor E Bender and six councilmen present. Ordinances including public morality and cruelty to animals pass while liquor license petitions are tabled or granted. A special election for water bonds is ordered and the election results for mayor and council are announced. Prohibition meeting planned for April 18 with R W Kelsey and W Eugene Knox to rally support.
A LaGrange Georgia man suffers a six month frightful leg injury after an incident described as a dangerous mishap. Local reports note the man endured significant trauma but saved his leg.
