Salute to Industry slated for Muscatine Oct 10
The Muscatine Chamber of Commerce plans a full Oct 10 day to honor all industries. Highlights include a 7 p.m. husband and wife dinner at the Elks, limited to 275 tickets, a golf morning at Geneva Golf and Country Club, a noon luncheon, afternoon industry tours, a Kent Feeds boat ride and a social hour before the banquet. Jack Rigler and Marv Krieger urge immediate reservations and promise further plans soon.

Max Allan Collins, a Muscatine novelist and community college instructor, led a Sunday program on Collecting the Original Art of Comics at the Laura Musser Art Gallery and Museum. The exhibit features original strips from Krazy Kat to Tumbleweeds along with scarce early comic books and runs through Oct 27 with free admission. A social reception followed hosted by the Muscatine County Museum and Fine Arts Association.
