Mrs. Tressie Nelson of 609 North 5th Ave Nashville Tennessee writes that Peruna has greatly helped her after five years of poor health and that she hopes her testimony reaches others who suffer as she did.
Letters from Mrs. Tressie Nelson and others claim Peruna cured backache headaches and neuralgia. Dr. Hartman says many women improve with Peruna and urges trial, noting Ottawa Ontario and Cleveland Ohio testimonials and years of patient letters.
Yeoman Lodge met last evening to elect officers including President C H Gaines Master of accounts Allen G Stuart Chaplain David Sterneman and Watchman Elias Macklin. The summer membership contest ended with October 6 set as the banquet date for the losers and Greens appear to lead in applications. A new contest led by Mrs Ella Scott and Mrs Lily Schreurs was announced.
In a YMCA pool event last night the Working Boys beat the Intermediates by a small margin. Haydn Hine led with 153 points, while Lloyd Wells scored 130 and Ralph Lohr 120. Events included the 15 Yard Swim Underwater Swim and 80 Yard Swim with top finishers named.
The fifty seventh anniversary of Miriam Rebeka Lodge was celebrated last night at the I. O. O. F. hall. Several brief addresses were given with no prepared program, followed by a social hour after the speeches.
The Woman's Mission Circle held its annual thank offering yesterday afternoon at the First Congregational church. A total of $25 was received. The session featured several interesting topics and proved overall engaging.
Superintendent W F Chevalier publishes a long list of Muscatine public school pupils who had perfect attendance last year from Sept 1907 to June 1908. The roster covers Washington Garfield Lincoln McKinley and McKinley schools with students from first to eighth year and includes many named pupils across grades.
The jury returned a verdict for Forepaugh & Sells Brothers' circus in a $500 damages suit brought by the Citizens' Railway & Light Company. The case, in district court for three days, stemmed from alleged damage to tracks caused by heavy show wagons crossing and recrossing.
The Bi County meeting will be held in Wilton on October 3 1908 with an emphasis on practical rural education. Prof Forrest C Ensign State High School inspector will give an address and the program includes talks by Mrs B R King Mr M F Cronin and others plus music by Wilton students.
