Rescued After Boat Fire on Mississippi River
Garvin Scots, 36, an Ottumwa fireman, was rescued after his fiberglass boat burned on the Mississippi River Sunday. He had just ferried his wife and another Ottumwa couple ashore. the motor stalled, reignited, and burst into flame. Scots leaped into the river and was saved by a man from a nearby boat who threw him a life jacket.
