The Muscatine County Mutual Fire and Lightning Insurance Association held its 37th annual meeting at City Hall with large attendance. Officers were re-elected, including President George Shields and Secretary D B Addleman. The secretary reported five year assessments at 8.5 mills, losses and expenses below average, $3,093.55 in losses with lightning-related claims mainly on livestock and buildings, and a favorable surplus heading into the next year.
