Miss Nettie E Bogardus of Clarksburg West Virginia endorses Peruna tablets saying they helped internal catarrh after doctors failed. She notes two years of benefit and credits Dr Hartman and team for the tablet version which delivers the same dose as liquid Peruna.

In Columbus Junction Iowa on November 21 a chimney fire at the J B O Connor residence on Walnut Street was quickly fought by the local fire company preventing a roof blaze. A second farm house fire near Cotter belonging to Albert Davis and cared for by Mr Stingley caused total loss while no one was home. The town also saw a flurry of social visits and upcoming services across several churches.
Muscatine county offers a prize for the best 10 ears of corn grown in the county and shown at the Ames corn contest from January 4 to 16, 1909. Donor C C Croxen of Atalissa funds a Poland China gift for top corn, tied to his Maple Grove farm herd known across the county.
Iowa dairy officials report the state produced 101,552,063 pounds of creamery butter last year, surpassing 100 million pounds for the first time. The average price was 26.58 cents, adding about $27,000,000 to Iowa’s wealth, with 552 creameries operating. The local association plans a Monday meeting at city hall with full attendance urged.
Memorial Sunday will be observed at the German Evangelical church with Rev. John Jans in charge. A post service meeting will decide on celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Muscatine church on February 14, 1909. The service includes preludes, hymns, prayers, a scripture reading, a bass solo, the Apostle's Creed, and a sermon on Thy dead and thy death.
