Edward H. Bitter post of the American Legion marked Veterans Day with a banquet at the post home. Mayor and Mrs. Burns, County Commander Burt and Mrs. Carter of Nichols, and other officials attended for a dinner and speech by Rev. Leo E. Jeambey who spoke on Our Other War in Viet Nam and medical teams work. Post Commander Raymond Whittaker presided. Assisting in serving the dinner were numerous volunteers and Rena Olson decorated the tables.

Reckless Driving Charge Follows Crash Into Pole
Ronald Fuller, 31, of 813 Mulberry Avenue, was charged with reckless driving after his 1962 station wagon crashed into a utility pole in the 1400 block of Grandview Avenue at 12:30 today. He was issued a summons to appear before Justice of the Peace Walter Pilgrim. Officers pursued as Fuller lost control at high speed. no injuries were reported.

Fire damages wooden forms at plant site
Fire damaged wooden forms and a tarpaulin at the construction site for new tanks at the municipal sewage disposal plant on Musser street. It started about 9 30 p m after wind shift forced a canvas toward a heater used to cure concrete. The blaze severed a fuel line and damaged lumber. plant superintendent Frank Gross said construction will not be delayed. Acton Construction Co of St Paul has completed about 85 percent of concrete work. Muscatine firemen fought the blaze. initially the operating portion of the plant was believed threatened.

Shepherd Pup Jumps From Car in Atalissa Runaway
Larry Shaw of Atalissa said his young German shepherd gray and black with one floppy ear jumped from his car on East Eighth and Walnut streets Friday night after being struck by a passing truck. The dog ran away, Shaw reported.
