Better Than Candy in Nursery Eating Habits
Adelaide Glaser, a home economist from Western New Mexico University, told the Institute of Food Technologists that nursery school children can be steered away from candy toward carrot sticks, celery, apples, fruit juice, milk, cheese, asparagus, broccoli, beans and bell peppers. Initial stages of a quarter million dollar improvement on highways 6 and 38 west of Wiltonston include widening the Mud Creek bridge and railroad viaduct. A 200 pound black bear on the Olympic Peninsula was fitted with a small radio collar by the State Department of Natural Resources to track movements for forest damage research. The collar later fell off, leaving officials with “a radio, but no bear” as the bear went back into the wilderness.
