Leo Ineichen, a Muscatine youth attending Creighton University in Omaha Nebraska, won a gold medal in the elocution contest on May 13. His subject was The Chieftains Daughter. His mother and brother George reside in Muscatine.

The West forty feet of Lot 1 and the West half of the East two thirds of Lot 2 in Block 11 in Muscatine are described as the sale premises. The property is suited for wholesale or retail business and sale details are dated May 21 1908.

John P Balser and Edith L Kemper were married at the bride's parents near Fairport in a German M E church ceremony officiated by Rev F W Carwell. About 45 guests attended as Miss Celia Anderson and Elmer Kemper participated. The couple will reside on Balser’s farm near Bayfield after the ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Leverich of Lone Tree ended a visit with Mr. and Mrs. John Leverich and their family on West Fourth street and returned to their home this morning.
Local Socialist meeting tonight at New Hall corner Sec ond and Sycamore streets invites all. Emil Herman of Tacoma Washington will speak Friday May 22 at 8 o clock on Socialism versus Capitalism. Herman is a convention delegate. Lee W Lang of Muscatine arranged the event. Open air lecture and the Muscatine socialist party also meets tonight at Olds building Room 38 with Lee Lanz speaking on the Chicago convention.
A man identified as William Rohier was arrested in Davenport after the horse and buggy was stolen Tuesday and recovered last night. The owner, A. G. Whittaker, had the rig shipped to Muscatine, while Rohier, described by Whittaker, is held to determine if there is enough evidence for a trial. Police reported Rohier appeared demented and was questioned in a physician's office before arrest.
