Helmer Erickson dies within half an hour after being struck by a Fast Ri passenger in Moline. The skull fracture from the collision led to his death shortly after the impact.
Helmer Erickson of Moline Illinois a Rock Island railroad fireman was struck by passenger train No 38 near West Liberty Iowa while crossing a track after dining at the depot area. He died about an hour later. Coroner Norton of Monmouth was notified no inquest will be held. He was married less than a year.
