New Moor Space Expansion For Manufacturing Plant
The article describes tubes moving from pins through an oven, air blasts guiding moulded leaping heads, and finished tubes packed in trays for shipment to buyers. Tubes vary in size for diverse product packaging, with a new building expected to add over 25 percent more Moor space to house equipment and processes.
Substantial Progress in Celon Expansion Project Squeeze Tubes In Production
Substantial progress toward the 1 200 000 expansion at Thatcher Glass Celon division plant is reported. A 362 by 15 foot addition is partly in use as a warehouse and will house tube production within 30 days. Six tube lines, with three moved from Nashua New Hampshire and three new, are nearly ready. The project adds about 450 jobs and aims for full production later, with polyethylene squeeze tube manufacture using automatic extrusion and color printing on offset presses.

Winter-Freshened Cows Outproduce January Calves in Milk
Madison Wisconsin dairy official Ben Bereskin reported to the American Dairy Science Association that in a 35,000 cow study Iowa Holsteins calving in January produced about 1,082 more pounds of milk and 33 more pounds of butterfat per cow than cows freshened in August. High, medium, and low producing herds showed winter freshening outperforming summer groups by roughly 1.8 percent, with December to February calving highest production and September to November cows yielding the most butterfat. Differences arise mainly from herd management and breeding and from variation among cows within a herd.
