London crowds flood the streets as June coronation events approach. Chinese and Indian soldiers and envoys arrive while the king and queen reach Buckingham Palace in good health. Traffic slows, fares rise, and decorative arches mark stations along the procession route.
Chicago reports Sam Bryant the venerable Kentucky horseman bids farewell at the Derby saying he is ready to die. After fifty years on racecourses he watched the finish from a stable couch before being carried to the train for Louisville. Bryant once owned famous racers including Proctor Knott.
London reports Whitelaw Reid, the United States special ambassador, will ride in a private carriage in the royal procession. Previously he was listed to share a rear seat with Turkhan Pasha and Admiral Gerva is. the king ordered Reid receive an exclusive carriage instead.
A section of Northern Pacific track between Maple and Poplar near Duluth was blown up early today as Ringling's circus train was due. A woodsman woke to gunfire, saw armed men retreat, and alerted a telegraph station four miles away, stopping the first Ringling division and its cash car. It took about three hours to repair the track.
Washington June 23 the house passed a resolution ordering the secretary of war to provide a statement of the sums spent from the Cuban treasury during the American occupation to influence legislation in favor of reciprocity.

Ottumwa June 23 Special Robert Bradshaw a 40 year old farmer was dragged to death by a mule near Foster after tying a rope to his arm. The animal ran away causing fatal injuries in a farming accident.

On a Milwaukee fishing trip from the government breakwater on Sunday morning, three men and a boy went missing. The boy was rescued with difficulty. the dead are W. F. C. Falbe of 387 Fifth Street aged 45, Jacob Beyer of Chicago aged 50, and Joseph Greely of New York aged 50.
