Tiny Hymnal Unearthed as West Liberty Sanctuary Razed
West Liberty Methodist churchgoers recovered a weathered hymnal and powdery debris from a 1874 cornerstone as the old sanctuary was razed. A copper box said to preserve keepsakes for 100 years was opened, revealing a hymnal identical to Rev. Dale J. Williams 1851 book. The new colonial style sanctuary rises with bricklayers from Al Desmond Co. finishing in weeks under Ken Evans Inc. and Dick Holmes overseeing brickwork.
