Death By Own Action Follows Man's Dismissal
Keota Iowa June 19 Special O J Johnson of Oxtell Nebraska committed death by own action here Sunday morning. He had been discharged by the Omaha picture enlarging firm after canvassing issues left stranded without funds. After failing to borrow money he bought strychnine and died in a barn near the boarding house about 3 AM. He wrote two letters leaving messages for manager Hall and Nebraska relatives.

Woman tried for concealing mortgaged sewing machine
Mrs A E Mannus formerly of Muscatine now living in Wilton faced Judge Carl on a Rowan venue change charged with concealing mortgaged property a sewing machine held by John O Brien mortgagee. The court found insufficient evidence and she was released. The accompanying case notes a Drunk L E Hart pleading guilty to intoxication and fined.
