Rev. and Mrs. C. M. Olander of New Era traveled through Muscatine after attending their daughter’s wedding in Minneapolis. Miss Helen Olander wed Fred Warren of St. Cloud on June 10. The bride had previously visited New Era, where she was well known.
Five indictments were handed to Supreme Court Justice Goff by a special grand jury in New York. The probe into the American Ice company led to bench warrants issued, with names not released to the public.
A carload of dynamite exploded near Sargent Colorado on the Denver and Rio Grande line, blowing the freight train to pieces. Two tramps were killed and several trainmen injured in the blast.
