Rev. G. M. Robb of Morning Sun was elected moderator of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America at the Beaver Falls meeting. Born in West River, he has served in multiple pastorates and earned honors including an honorary Doctor of Divinity from Geneva College.
Fred Lenz marks 87th birthday with a cooperative basket dinner at Grace United Church of Christ. Dr. George Zibilich of Lone Tree hospitalized in Mercy Hospital Town City for therapy and traction in room 215. Marsha Nicholson undergoes tonsillectomy at Mercy Hospital. Coyt Westfall’s son Bernard en route to Guatemala with Air Force, with vacation stops in Acapulco and Mexico City. Rev. Wendel Hansen and family visit longtime friends. Robb elected moderator of Reformed Presbyterian churches, with Mrs Robb traveling to Beaver Falls for installation. Morning Sun attendees include Rev. and Mrs. Morrow and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Edgar.
Columbus Junction United Presbyterian Women gather Thursday evening June 17 at 8:00 for a joint circle meeting with Ruth Briggs of Winfield as guest speaker and Velma Sunderman leading devotion. Hostesses named Selenia Pugh Correne Hanit Jennie Hanft Nancy Bartlett. Young Methodists, Janet Greene Pam Story Margaret Perry Charlene Buser Vicki McKean, attended Senior MYF at Iowa Wesleyan Mount Pleasant. Bible School closed June 1 with average attendance 60. Teachers listed along with assistants and recreation head Ronnie Clark headed refreshment committee Dottie Pugh led refreshments.
Mrs. Marion Cecil and Mrs. Geraldine Leonhard lead a baptismal service for infants on Sunday June 20 at 10 30 am at United Presbyterian Church. New members reception and church school follow on Sunday June 27 at 10 00 am and 9 00 am respectively with one worship service that day.
