Roof collapse after heavy rain at Sycamore Street building
Rainfall caused a portion of a two story rear wall to collapse onto a flat roof at 107 Sycamore Street, dropping debris and two stories onto four stored cars. The structure, owned by Henderson's Chevrolet-Oldsmobile at 19 East Mississippi Drive, suffered major damage while four adjacent cars escaped. Mrs. Mabel Jones notified police after hearing the crash. The rear roof section failed due to a clogged drain pipe, and authorities expect the building to be torn down.
