Monroe County Republicans in conven tion today endorsed Riggs for superintendent of schools. The Albia meeting unanimously backed his candidacy, highlighting experience in education and commitment to local schools.

The funeral for the late Mrs Barbara Engels was held at 9 am from St Marys church with Rev Father J J Grieser officiating. The service was brief and the casket was strewn with flowers as friends attended. A short sermon praised her exemplary life before the procession to St Marys Cemetery. Miss Etnie Ruser leaves for Davenport for vacation. she taught at the high school last year. Judge Horace E Deemer of Red Oak travels to Madison WI to address law graduates, plans to return for Iowa City graduation. Mrs Joseph B Fuller, Mrs B Fuller, and Misses Anna and Marguerite Fuller attend Mount Grove school picnic at Sweetland.
