4 H Girls Elect Jane Petersen at Muscatine Rally
Four hundred thirty four attendees at a Muscatine high school rally elected Jane Petersen 16 as president of county 4 H clubs for the coming year. She is junior at Muscatine High, president of Sweetland Sunshine, and won a Wel Sheaf trip to Ames. Lois Albrecht was new vice president and Rose Mary Zimmerman secretary. A list of graduates and candidates followed amid program notes. Jane Petersen and Keith Barnhart left for Ames for the state 4 H conference with other delegates.

Arizonans Archibald Eden Aviz and party arrived Friday evening for a two week visit with his sister Mr and Mrs Don Stein and other relatives and friends. They planned to attend the alumni banquet at the elementary building Saturday night and the class of 1938 reunion in which Archibald was a member. William Mathews, Jay delegate, left Sunday for Des Moines to attend the Methodist conference at First Methodist church. Mr and Mrs Kenneth Fearing are parents of a daughter born Friday June 7 at Mercy hospital Anamosa. Ms Fearing is the former Sandra Cook, daughter of Mrs Philip Downs. Paternal grandfather is Mr Ray Fearing. Carl Lofgren is a patient at Mercy hospital Burlington. Ray Rukgaber, formerly at Muscatine general hospital, was transferred to Iowa City Friday in serious condition.
