The consolidation will fold American Express Adams Valle-Fargo and Southern lines into one system with a capital of 30.96 million. George C. Taylor, president of American, is to head the new firm. A single blanket contract with government railroads is expected, replacing multiple contracts. The express volume today outweighs any in the past 50 years, with last year’s business exceeding 200 million.
