Recent acquisitions at the Laura Musser Museum presented by the Musca Museum and Art Gallery include two blown pintime Countyard Fine Arts jars and an 1845 oil portrait of Captain Dawley by Pittsburgh. The exhibit features jar models connected to Captain Dawley of LeClaire, with photos by John Evans. Members of the Muscatine Chamber of Commerce attended the grand opening of Coder Real Estate at 1519 Park Ave, with Ed Galiger Bill Angell Nick Ogilvie, meeting Doug Cader Rosalie Sloan and Hazel Speith.

Civil Air Patrol Awards Event In Muscatine Open House
Muscatine Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol will present awards to cadet members in an open house ceremony at 7 30 p m Monday at the National Guard Armory. Cadets will receive awards for educational program levels and new members will be inducted. The local drill team that won the state trophy will perform. Visitors and parents are welcome. CAP is a non profit civilian youth training program for 13 to 17 year olds.

Car crash at West Mississippi Drive and Pine Street
Police report a rear end collision at a red light when Donald Ralph Baker failed to stop his semi trailer brakes reportedly failed. Logan Lewis Corder, 68, of 1312 Oak Street, was in a 1968 Chevrolet. In New York a Lutheran Church spokesman identified Finday Harold Ribber as a crash victim in New Delhi. Ribber, a missionary in Madras, served 26 years in India and earlier managed the Mornai Tea Estate in Assam. He was born in Dwight, Texas, attended Grand View College and Seminary, and married Mary Olsen with three sons and a daughter.
