More than 2000 toured the Muscatine Public Safety Building during a Saturday open house and dedication three months after moving into the 312 E. 5th St. facility. Mayor Evelyn Schaul accepted a golden key from Dubuque firm representative Dale A. Nederhoff as officials praised the project and notable visitors including U.S. Sen. Dick Clark and Rep. Ed Mezvinsky attended.

Police logs show several thefts including a truck theft from Walch and Son Transfer 2311 Sampson St and a theft from a parked car in Sandy's parking lot 1615 Park Ave. Other losses include an outboard motor gas tank boat gear and a gas cap. One collision left two drivers treated for minor injuries.

Two juveniles arrested in Letts thefts cases
Louisa County authorities report two juveniles were arrested Friday evening with one suspect sought in a series of Letts robberies earlier in the month. They face breaking and entering charges over thefts at Earl's Tap a residence and a car linked to Mike Jennings. Items taken include beer $50 and a guitar. They were released and scheduled for Magistrate Court. Des Moines authorities recovered the body of Louis Cockrell 34 who drowned while wading in Gray's lake Sunday night in a no swimming area.

Ten Die In Weekend Iowa Accidents Reported
Weekend traffic crashes across Iowa claimed eleven lives including Ricky Hillmer 18 of Lytton and Marjory Anker 33 of Hospers.
