Nuns Evacuate 295 Patients in Brooklyn Hospital Blaze

Nuns aided evacuation of 295 patients at St Mary's Hospital Brooklyn after a fast moving loft fire. No injuries. The three alarm blaze was controlled in about 20 minutes. Evacuated patients were placed on a nearby lawn with 295 total moved. later those under treatment were returned inside.

Bids Opened for Muscatine Junior College Project

Nine bids were opened for Muscatine's new junior college. Stanley Engineering Co. will study the proposals with plans to advise at a special Board of Education session set for around July 30. The building sits on Heinz estate land off Colorado Street, west of Weed Park, with completion targeted for the 1963-64 school year.
