Corn and hog producers from ten midwestern states unite to back adding their industry to the national recovery program. A 25 member committee will push plans in Chicago with a five member sub committee to attend, led by Earl Smith of Illinois. Dr. A G Black, national corn hog administrator, will meet officials in Chicago as producers vow to seek prompt action to raise hog prices without hardship.

Mrs August Blaesing Sr died at home 1202 Cedar Street about 5 p m Tuesday after a 2 1/2 year illness. Born April 12 1857 in Meinken Brandenburg Germany Rosalie Josephine Quast came to America in 1888 and settled in Muscatine. Surviving are her husband eight children eighteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services 2 p m Friday at home and 2 30 p m at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. John Haefcer. burial Greenwood Cemetery.

Northwood Ia veteran congressman Gilbert N. Haugen died at 74 after a long House tenure of 34 years. Heart disease and complications followed an influenza bout. he was surrounded by daughter Mrs. Joe Johnson and son L. G. Haugen of New York. A champion of farm relief, he coauthored the McNary Haugen bill and pushed 18 farm acts including oleomargarine and cooperative bargaining measures. Funeral services will be held in Northwood Friday afternoon.

Orange City Iowa report says two alleged leaders Morris Cope 27 and Ed Casper 50 will surrender at Le Mars at 2 PM to plead guilty to assault with intent to do great bodily injury in the April 27 attack on Judge C C Bradley during a farm mortgage foreclosure dispute. The pair had been sought since the courtroom assault against the judge.
